Yvonne Reynders was born August 4, 1937 in Schaarbeek, near Brussels Belgium. She was a track and road cyclist from Belgium who should be remembered as the only other women besides Jeannie Longo to win 4 gold medals at the Worlds in the road race. While Longo eventually went on to win five golds in the road race, this is quite impressive enough to be mentioned as one of the great riders of the past. Yvonne was an incredibly successful cyclist only rivaled at the time by Beryl Burton.

Reynders won 12 medals at the woman's world championships including 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals in the road race. In the pursuit she won 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals. Ten years later, Yvonne won the nationals and took 3rd in the World Championships. Overall, her palmares are indeed, very impressive!
